Dietetic internship


Our interns gain experience in a wide variety of settings

The Arizona State University Dietetic Internship prepares students to become entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionists through a combination of graduate education and supervised practice. 

Interns apply the nutrition care process and evidence-based guidelines to real-world nutrition challenges, while developing critical skills in leadership, cultural competence, communication and nutrition education.

Additional program option

Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway (ISPP)


  • Who can apply: Graduates of the ASU PhD in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences
  • Track type: Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway
  • Supervised practice: Customized plan coordinated with the ASU DI Director
  • Credits required: No additional graduate credits; PhD coursework fulfills academic requirements
  • Eligibility: Candidate must have completed an ACEND-accredited DPD program prior to PhD
  • Application process: Must be reviewed and approved by the ASU Dietetic Internship Director
  • Credits required: 3-6 during supervised practice
