Degree programs in biomedical informatics

Using innovation to improve health

Health care innovation drives transformation and improvement of the human experience. Our biomedical informatics programs provide students with an opportunity to be at the leading edge of these advancements.

Biomedical informatics is the science of translating clinical and medical data into useful information and knowledge to improve health outcomes. Combining technology and life sciences, students with an interest in IT or computer science and a passion for helping others might find their niche in the field.

Biomedical informatics students learn how to acquire and manage data, as well as how to use these capabilities to solve real health problems. From their first semester, students can conduct research alongside expert faculty. Graduates with a degree in the rapidly expanding fields of biomedical informatics are prepared for careers in a wide range of settings, including hospitals; health insurance providers; health departments; pharmaceutical, diagnostics and biotechnology companies and research institutions.
